Job Description Immediate need for a talented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist – Laboratory . This is a 06months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in South San Francisco, CA(Onsite) . Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested. Job ID:26-05632 Pay Range: $30 - $50/hour. Traveler benefits as per agency package. (Benefits vary by vendor and assignment.). Key Responsibilities: Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM 5 days/week including every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday). Support EHS programs including biosafety, chemical safety, hazardous & medical waste, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and emergency response Conduct laboratory safety inspections (biosafety, fire prevention, hazardous materials compliance) Record findings in EHS database and drive corrective actions Oversee hazardous, medical, and universal waste collection and documentation Respond to workplace incidents and conduct investigations Perform hazard identification, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) Coordinate CPR, First Aid, and AED trainings Deliver EHS orientation training to contractors Support lab commissioning, decommissioning, and safety equipment setup Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations Maintain documentation per regulatory deadlines Key Requirements and Technology Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field 0–5 years of EHS experience (biotech, pharmaceutical, or R&D laboratory preferred) Working knowledge of OSHA and applicable EHS regulations Familiarity with ANSI, NFPA, or NEC standards Experience with hazardous waste management Strong communication and documentation skills Experience supporting laboratory-based EHS programs Incident investigation and root cause analysis experience Experience with EHS databases and compliance tracking systems Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving research environment Proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, and general office software Our client is a leading Pharmaceutical Industry, and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
