    ABOUT THE ROLE
    Our engineering organization is comprised of three primary departments: Current Product Engineering (CPE), New Product Engineering (NPE) and, Product Validation.
    The Current Product Engineering (CPE) Department has two main missions:

    • To provide design enhancement and optimization for our current product platforms that spans across virtually all stages of the vehicle lifecycle
    • To deliver robust, fleet-specific designs required for each of our customers operational needs

      We are looking for an experienced Engineering leader who desires to play a key role on a winning organization, is passionate about building and leading a great team, has an unrelenting drive for excellence, is a great problem solver and has a strong thirst to lead product and process improvement.
      As a Supervisor for the CPE Controls team, you will directly lead a team of 3 to 6 control engineers to develop, test, and release a complete vehicle-level software package for each fleet of vehicles. This includes software for new production builds which consist of clean diesel, near-zero CNG, hybrid, battery electric, as well as upgrade software to existing buses in the field. You will manage all the existing base software and configurations as well as approve any new logics before they get added to our database. This position is responsible for on-going communication to management, the alignment and prioritization of the groups workload, overseeing the teams technical deliverables, and resource planning to ensure meeting company targets.
      You will work closely with the Supervisor for the NPE Controls team to accept and approve the handoff of the production ready software package along with configuration files and all documentations at the end of each program. This includes getting trained on new theory of operations, new software and tools, and any new processes required for the CPE Controls team to successfully implement the new logics into customers buses.
      Assignments are broad in scope and highly complex that require outstanding creativity, superior initiative, good judgement, and leadership skill.
      BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
      • Minimum 8 years of Engineering experience
      • Vision to drive strategies and process improvements with a proven ability to execute
      • Expert at leading project from the concept phase to completion
      • Experience leading and/or mentoring a team of 3+
      • Experienced with:

        • Ladder logic controls such as Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC
        • Software development models and processes
        • Opened and closed loop control systems for sensors, actuators, body controller, ECUs, etc.
        • J1939 database and CAN tools such as CANalyzer, P-CAN, Kvaser, CANoe, CANApe, etc.


        • Expert knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle industry standards, regulations, and guidelines such as FMVSS, ADA, APTA Bus Procurement Guidelines, SAE HD vehicle standards, NFPA, and NEC MATLAB, Simulink, and State flowchart
        • Fluency in 8D, five whys, and fishbone process to diagnose complex issues
        • Comfortable and experience with high voltage systems such as DCDC, motor and inverter, Li battery, high-power charger, and safety interlock loop

          WORK ENVIRONMENT

          • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
          • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
          • Limited travel may be required
          • Standard start time 6:00AM (negotiable)

            EXPECTED COMPENSATION
            $75,000 - $275,000/annual salary + premium benefits
            Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
