possible.The Staff Systems Integration Engineer -is responsible for
working developing and progressing the system integration strategy
for the Systems Engineering team. In this role, you will be the
systems integration lead on projects. The individual will develop
new test methods, lead troubleshooting, and perform failure
Investigations to support ongoing design and development efforts
across Cepheid's diagnostic platforms. This role is ideal for an
individual who enjoys solving complex technical problems and
believes in our mission of delivering a better way to improve
patient outcomes by enabling access to molecular diagnostic testing
everywhere. A successful individual in this role will utilize
technical knowledge, experience, and engineering tools and
methodologies to bridge the gap across functional teams and connect
critical elements, including Software, Firmware, Hardware,
Consumables, Biochemistry, and Optics. You will be a critical
player in a fast-paced team that is sustaining current bestselling
generation instrumentation and developing next generation
diagnostic instrument platforms and lab automation systems.This
position is part of the Systems Engineering team and will be in in

diagnostic testing everywhere.In this role, you will have the
opportunity to:
- Develop an expert technical understanding of our products and
serves as a holistic systems integration engineer capable of
hands-on triaging of all Cepheid systems and subsystems.
- Lead technical projects and tasks involving a cross functional
team.
- Perform hands-on laboratory testing in engineering, instrument,
and biology labs.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends and areas for
investigation.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Software, Firmware,
Mechanical, Electrical, Customer Care, and Biochemistry.The
essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, molecular biology, life
sciences, or a related technical discipline
- At least 8 years of direct work experience as an engineer,
scientist, or product developer (e.g., System Integration Engineer,
System Development Engineer, Product Development Engineer,
Physicist, or related occupation) in an industry laboratory
setting. Or equivalent combination of advance degree with practical
experience to perform at this level.
- Must have experience with developing and integrating complex
instrumentation systems which incorporate optical, mechanical,
thermal, and firmware/software components.
- Working knowledge of design of experiments, interpretation of
test results, failure investigation and excellent problem-solving
skills
- Data analysis expertise and experience with various data
analysis software packages such as Origin, Matlab, Minitab, or
Image Analysis SoftwareIt would be a plus if you also possess
previous experience in:
- Medical device or biotechnology industry with GMP and GLP
experience
- Systems Engineering, such as requirements, system architecture,
and risk analysis
- Knowledge of analog and digital electronics, hardware test
method development, optomechanical design and assembly,

$160K-$180K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the
range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this
posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
This range may be modified in the future.This job is also eligible
for bonus/incentive pay.We offer comprehensive package of benefits
