Description Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable (A/R) professional with outstanding organizational skills and an eye for detail to join a growing team in the Utilities/Infrastructure industry. In this position, you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Livermore, California area.
Major responsibilities

• 
  
• 
  Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
  
  
• 
  Promote, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization
  
  
• 
  Present information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
  
  
• 
  Assist in setting up payment plans; contact clients to help resolve payment issues
  
  
• 
  Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers
  
  
• 
  Settle bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a variety of ledgers
  
  
• 
  Verify documents and codes
  
  
• 
  Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks Requirements - Demonstrated analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
  
  
• 
  Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular
  
  
• 
  Experience with ERP systems
  
  
• 
  2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
  
  
• 
  Proven knowledge of customer service
  
  
• 
  Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
  
  
• 
  Data entry experience
  
  
• 
  Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
  
  
• 
  Billing experience
  
  
• 
  Foundational knowledge in Commercial Collections
  
  
• 
  Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
  
  
• 
  AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired
