- Design and conduct experiments in the field of nuclear weapon
science with an emphasis on flash radiography as a primary
diagnostic for explosively driven experiments.
- Learn and utilize specialized computational tools and
techniques for processing and analyzing radiographic imaging
data.
- Optimize flash radiography diagnostic setups and
techniques.
- Characterize x-ray sources and detectors for aiding
quantitative radiographic measurements.
- Apply analysis techniques to plan experiments with an emphasis
on simulating radiographic data.
- Collaborate on multidisciplinary teams to further advance
radiographic diagnostic techniques.
- Share results via conferences, reports/publications, and
potential interactions with stakeholders.
- Promote and support plans to promote diversity, equity, and
inclusion within the program.
- Other tasks as assigned. Additional responsibilities at the
mid-career (SES. 3) level
- Define experiment radiographic requirements in the field of
nuclear weapon science emphasis on flash radiography as a primary
diagnostic for explosively driven experiments.
- Develop and advance computational tools and techniques for
processing, simulating, and analyzing radiographic images.
- Identify, advocate, and facilitate the advancement of
diagnostic capabilities in the area of flash radiographic imaging
of explosive driven experiments.
- Manage and oversee multiple parallel complex projects and
experiments at different stages of development.
- Ability to maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance,
which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Master's degree in physics, mathematics, engineering, or
related field or equivalent combination of education and related
