CNC Operator
Summary: The CNC Operator role is to plan machining by studying blueprints, materials, and specifications; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Operates Haas Mill and KOMO Router by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Sets-up mill and router by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, collets, bushings, vise stops, and including vices.
Maintains specification by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including facing, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
General and Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate with team clearly and concisely
Ability to ask questions when faced with unclear processes or issues
Ability to multi-task and clarify priorities with lead or supervisor
Strong attention to detail, and time management skills
Basic math skills
Professionalism
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office 365
Geo path and Mastercam programming software
Education/Experience:
High school diploma/GED required
At least 6 months of operating CNC machines.
Use of hand tools such as Drills, Jigsaws, Table saws (bonus skills but not required)
This can also be entry level for the rite candidate with hands on experience in mechanical field
