searching for a qualified candidate to join their team of Linear
Algebraists. This team works to solve linear algebra problems
arising in a broad spectrum of application problems involving
direct and iterative solution of linear systems for sparse and
dense problems and associated eigenvalue problems. The R&D
Engineer II contributes to the development of software products and
supporting systems. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will
collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand
customer requirements and accomplish development objectives. We are
specifically searching for a candidate specializing in eigenvalue
problems. RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms moderately complex development
activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance,
testing and documentation of software modules and
sub-systemsUnderstands and employs best practicesPerforms
moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta
support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA
or product support and develops solutionsUnderstands the marketing
requirements for a product, including target environment,
performance criteria and competitive issuesWorks under the general
supervision of a development manager MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBS in
Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years'
experience or MSWorking experience with a variety of linear algebra
areas but especially eigenvalue computationsExperience applying
linear algebra technology to engineering application
problemsDemonstrated skills using existing linear algebra software
tools with the ability to enhance those toolsSoftware skills in
Fortran and/or C to develop new tools as required especially in a
parallel computing environment using MPI and OpenMP PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONSPhD preferredAbility to work in a variety of
application areasExperience in a large-scale commercial software
development environmentGood communication and interpersonal
skillsAbility to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a
geographically distributed team, including application specialists
