You will be a member of the Security Organization administrative team in support of strategic business operations and activities for one or more divisions. You will work independently in planning and performing a wide range of diverse administrative activities that includes coordinating hiring and onboarding activities, process improvements and leading administrative projects. This position is in the Security Organization.In this role you willOversee and manage the day-to-day administrative operations of work areas; assess and identify administrative needs, independently develop and recommend solutions and propose a course of action to resolve complex issues.Manage administrative staff to include hiring, supervising, mentoring, career development, disciplinary actions, training, performance appraisals, coordinating work assignments, and providing ranking and salary recommendations.Analyze and interpret human resources requirements/guidance and determine course of action to obtain optimal results. Investigate and recommend appropriate courses of action to managers and supervisors on administrative and personnel matters.Review, execute, and administer a variety of personnel/recruiting related activities, for the work unit, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.Research, analyze, establish, and implement internal administrative procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations.Review a variety of documentation for adherence to policy and ensure consistency.Perform other duties as assigned.Additional job responsibilities at the A01.3 levelServe as a point of contact regarding administrative requests and personnel issues in alignment with Department of Energy (DOE)/LLNL/Security Organization/PFD orders, policies and procedures, Security Police Officers' Association collective bargaining agreement and work rules.Solve complex and sensitive problems, develop and implement new techniques and procedures, interpret policy, formulate recommendations and establish procedures to ensure administrative and personnel needs for protective force operations.Participate in business, workforce, operations and strategic planning activities relating to compliance, personnel, facilities, and operations as a member of the management team.QualificationsThis position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.Associates degree or demonstrated competence obtained through a combination of experience, education, and/or training.Experience coordinating administrative and operational work activities and multi-faceted internal processes in functional area.Experience participating in and leading business, operational and/or organizational activities.Understanding of principles of personnel administration, policies and procedures, and state and federal laws. Knowledge and understanding of HR compliance requirements for personnel administration (FLSA, ADA, EEO, etc.)Administrative and organizational skills, including detail oriented, flexibility and experience independently coordinating and prioritizing multiple and complex work activities, often with conflicting deadlines. Ability to work effectively with short deadlines and frequent interruptions.Working knowledge of automated business tools/techniques and advanced knowledge of personal computers and associated software including MS Office applications.Additional qualifications at the A01.3 levelSupervisory experience with demonstrated leadership and team building skills to effectively build and manage an effective business and administrative support team in a 24.7 protective force environment.Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills identifying and researching solutions to administrative issues in a protective force security environment operating with a collective bargaining agreement.Knowledge of DOE)/LLNL/Security Organization/PFD orders, policies and procedures, collective bargaining agreement and work rules.Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills necessary to handle sensitive and confidential issues with tact, discretion, and mature judgment to interact with a diverse group of personalities and disciplines at all levels internal and external to the Laboratory.Qualifications we desireWorking knowledge of LLNL and DOE policies and procedures.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Position InformationThis is a Career Indefinite position.
