Malta, NY, Boise, ID, and Tualatin, OR.The CNC Programmer role is
located in Livermore, California. Summary: CNC Programmers are
responsible for interpreting project blueprints, designing
programs, and setting up machines to produce components outlined in
the program. The CNC Programmer is also responsible for performing
test runs and making proper adjustments to ensure parts meet
blueprint specifications. CNC Programmers maintain excellent time
management to ensure that jobs are scheduled and completed in a
timely manor. Maintaining quality and safety standards by keeping
records, maintaining equipment, tooling, and supplies. Programming
skills and familiarity with GEO Path software, Haas Mill, Komo
Router, and Shop Sabre Router is preferred. Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Plans machining by studying workorders, blueprints, engineering
plans, materials, and specifications Orthographic drawings,
reference planes, locations of surfaces, machining parameters, and
interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount
available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders
for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
- Program CNC by entering instructions, including zero reference
points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and
conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic
mat, geometry, trigonometry; indicating vices; tramming heads.
- Verifies setting by measuring positions, first run part, and
sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
- Maintains specification by observing drilling, grooving, and
cutting, including facing, and thread chasing operations; taking
measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes;
adjusting and reprogramming controls; replacing worn tools;
adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Understand correct tooling issues relating to feeds, speeds,
wear, and tooling setup.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for
accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities
to add value to job.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and
regulations
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance
requirements; following manufacturer's instructions;
troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Required Skills

- Make Judgement Decisions/Troubleshooting Education/Experience:
- Experience: At least 2 year of programming CNC machines and
working in manufacturing setting
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Recommended Experience: Geo Path, CNC Milling, and CNC Router
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend, and occasionally lift up
to 25 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to travel 50% or more of the time.
