We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Supply Chain professional with a proven track record in:Identifying reliable suppliers across a broad array of commoditiesCreating and administering RFP'sIdentifying and implementing Cost Savings opportunitiesEstablishing and managing Supply AgreementsOur Sourcing Specialists are responsible for participating in the New Product Introduction process including: planning, negotiating, and purchasing components in support of NPI for our manufacturing facility in Livermore, California.The ideal candidate will drive procurement decisions that:Result in high levels of supplier performanceAre based on cost and scenario analysis, as well as market trendsDevelop and progress strategic partnerships with suppliersActively minimize riskThrough individual contributions and cross functional influencing, Gillig's Sourcing Specialists ensure our supply base for all NPI projects are positioned to provide cost effective, quality components and services that will support OEM Production.About the Role:Identify, evaluate, and integrate new suppliers and technologiesPrepare RFP's, review quotes, and evaluate proposalsPlan, negotiate and place purchase orders in support of NPI projectsNegotiate contracts, including rebates, costs, terms of supply, service, and qualityAttend project meetings, be the voice of Supply Chain and keep the Supply Chain team updated on project developmentsCollaborate with current product procurement to identify and pursue new supplier opportunitiesWork closely with multiple departments, including Engineering, Production, Sales and Product Planning to optimize Gillig's Supply Chain.Advance supplier relationships and be the point of contact for NPI issuesEnsure the continuous improvement of quality, service and total cost in support of business needsPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsBA/BS or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 8 years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain roleStrong problem-solving skills, organization skills, and attention to detailStrong Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to create, analyze and make decisions based off large amounts of dataExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPrevious experience in a Manufacturing EnvironmentAssignments are complex and broad in scope requiring outstanding creativity, superior initiative, judgment, and leadershipKnowledge of lean principles preferredProficient in use of Syteline MRP system preferredAbout the environmentStart time is 6:00amOccasional overtime is requiredMust have ability to occasionally lift up to 30lbs and work in a standing, sitting, or walking position for prolonged periods of timeWorking environment includes office settings, manufacturing floor, and warehouseWe are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States.
