Job Description:

The Company provides carbon fiber components, customer parts and composite solutions for customers worldwide and performs all their own manufacturing and quality. The Composite Technician has many responsibilities including problem solving, efficient manufacturing, quality inspection, maintenance, product improvement, and manufacturing systems improvement. They will be reporting to the Supervisor, Aerospace. Responsibilities: Composite Fabrication: create composite molded parts using our client s custom specifications

  • Follow Traveler document instructions to lay up (fabricate with various layers of peel ply and pre-preg carbon fiber) and configure composite laminates with strong eye for quality
  • Demonstrated mastery of vacuum-bagging technique and procedures Assemble and bond components and parts
  • Maintain cycle time and pacing necessary for continuous and on time material flow
  • Perform post production processing: countersinking, bonding and finishing by filing, sanding, grinding, cleaning, cutting, deburring, trimming and hand working materials
  • Follow standard document procedures, including filling out Travelers and initialing paperwork. Accurate and consistent manual and automatic data entry to ensure a complete and 100% error-free materials and manufacturing history
  • Make recommendations to improve overall process flow with maximum efficiency in mind. Make judgment calls when job duties or scheduling need to be modified in order to meet deadlines or improve output
  • Follow written and verbal instruction from Production Supervisor and/or Manager
  • Ensure a safe workplace by following safety procedures
  • Maintain an organized personal workspace, warehouse, Clean Room and shared spaces Paperwork Accuracy: The Company manufactures panels which must be fully traceable through the entire manufacturing operation
    • Require manual and automatic data entry to ensure a complete and 100% error-free materials and manufacturing history Computer Operation: The Composite Technician should have a working understanding of computers. All of our operations are tracked using a MRP system and each Composite Technician is responsible for the accurate entry of time and part serial numbers necessary to comply with ISO and customer requirements Assembly: General knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities and data needed for delivering quality product
