team and the role: eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in San
Jose, CA What you will accomplish: Job Duties: Design, develop, and
implement software solutions based on system specifications and
requirements. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Contribute to the architecture and design of software systems,
potentially leading medium projects. Write and maintain unit and
integration tests to ensure software quality. Participate in code
reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Debug and fix software bugs and issues. Perform root cause analysis
for production errors and develop solutions to prevent recurrence.
Work closely with other engineers, product managers, designers, and
stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into
technical specifications. Participate in agile development
processes which include sprint planning, stand-ups, and
retrospectives. Stay up to date with emerging trends and
technologies in software development. Continuously improve personal
technical and soft skills to enhance team performance and product
quality. Create and maintain technical documentation for software
systems and processes. Document changes and features for effective
knowledge transfer and future reference. Assist in the deployment
of software releases and monitor the performance of systems
post-release. Participate in the development of automation tools to
streamline the deployment and release process. Provide operational
support for systems in production, which includes on-call duties.
Monitor system performance and address latency and availability
issues. Communicate technical concepts to non-technical team
members. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable
distance. What you will bring: Minimum Requirements: Master’s
degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or
a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job
offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s
degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or
a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job
offered or a related occupation. Special Skill Requirements: 1.
Experience designing and developing large-scale software
applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java 2. Experience
developing e-commerce sites using J2EE-related technology 3.
Experience developing large-scale APIs using XML (2 years) 4.
Experience accessing RDBMS using SQL (2 years) 5. Experience
creating dynamic websites using Javascript and HTML (2 years) 6.
Experience developing software applications on Linux-based systems
(2 years) Salary: $136,297.00-190,100.00 per annum. 40 hours per
week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be legally authorized to
work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Additional Details Base pay
offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors,
including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation
package for this position may also include other elements,
including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable)
in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other
benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off
benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation
in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an
