Registered Nurse - OR – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse - OR
Location: Santa Rosa, CA Start Date: 02-23-2026 End Date:
05-25-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Variable days
including weekends; typically 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30
PM (Day) with an on-call rotation that may include nights and
evenings. Occasional single night shift coverage may be required;
on-call distributed equally (up to 6-8 shifts every 6 weeks). Hours

do best helping people heal. Roles & Responsibilities Provide
expert perioperative nursing care for trauma, neuro, vascular,
orthopedic and general surgery cases Prepare and maintain a sterile
field and manage surgical instrumentation during cases Collaborate
with surgeons and perioperative team members to support complex
procedures including robotics and spinal/orthopedic interventions
Perform safe administration and monitoring of blood and blood
products when required Document perioperative care accurately and
promptly using Epic Float between like units as needed to support
unit staffing and patient care needs Participate in on-call
coverage and respond to emergent cases, ensuring readiness for
trauma activations Support unit safety protocols including
Universal Protocol (time-out), infection control, and emergency
response Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in
California required (pending licenses not accepted) Minimum 3 years
of OR nursing experience; trauma level I experience required (5
years preferred) Previous travel experience required Current BLS
certification required Comfortable with floating between
OR/Endo/L&D/PACU and covering varied caseloads Ability to work
weekends and participate in on-call rotation Familiarity with Epic
charting system preferred Education Graduate of an accredited
nursing program (ADN/BSN) — RN licensure required Knowledge &
Skills Perioperative nursing for trauma, neuro, vascular and
orthopedic surgeries Robotics (Da Vinci Xi) and minimally invasive/
laparoscopic assisted procedures Cell saver operation, Hana table
experience, and electrosurgical unit familiarity VATS and thoracic
procedures experience is a plus Strong sterile technique,
instrumentation knowledge, and intraoperative patient safety
practices Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to operate
in high-acuity trauma situations Ability to manage multiple
priorities and adapt to variable start times (07:00 AM or 09:00 AM)
