The EHS Manager is a leadership position with primary
responsibility for the implementation, maintenance, and continuous
improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance
Programs and development of proactive processes to strive for an
injury-free, violation-free work environment. -This role requires a
long-term strategic view as well as tactical hands-on detailed
work. -This person will report to the VP of Operations and will
collaborate and build relationships throughout the entire
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
Develop and maintain all written programs and SOP's to meet or
exceed local, state, and federal regulations including, but not
limited to, City of Livermore, Alameda County, CalOSHA, FedOSHA,
NFPA, BAAQMD, CalEPA, DTSC, CUPA, LPFD, SWRCB, BACWA, etc---
Develop and manage Emergency Action Plan and drills. -Fulfill
Incident Commander role during emergent incident response.
Manage the SWPPP and SPCC requirements
Manage approved chemicals list, HMBP, HazCom, and hazardous waste
Manage LOTO, Electrical Safety , PPE Ergonomics, Confined Space,
Hot Work, Contractor Safety, and Fall Protection programs.
Audits, Inspections, and Incident Investigations:
Lead regulatory agency visits and inspections, responses, and
corrective action plans.
Develop internal EHS inspection programs, conduct audits and
assessments, and lead corrective action and preventive action plan
Train, mentor, and lead the site employees to be competent at all
aspects of EHS required to fulfill their job duties safely and
Conduct JHA's, DHA, and ADA assessments as necessary and coordinate
Training and Mentoring:
Develop New Hire Onboarding EHS introductory training.
Lead site safety committee and mentor employees to enable them to
confidently and competently identify hazards and take action to
eliminate or mitigate the risk.
Develop and maintain ongoing EHS training relevant to all employee
roles and responsibilities.
Key Performance Indicators:
Define, track, and communicate EHS metrics, both leading and
lagging, that accurately measure current state and progress toward
achieving goals aligned with business strategy and plan.
Education, Work Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
Bachelor degree in Occupational Health, Environmental, or Industry
Safety or equivalent work training and experience.
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership skills and behaviors
Effective verbal and written communication skills and active
CPR/First Aid certification a plus
Current -OSHA training certification (1910 or 1926) or equivalent
Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis training and
Ability to comprehend technical material and medical and ergonomic
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint,
Able to lift 30 lbs, climb stairs and vertical ladders, stand and
walk for prolonged periods of time
