Job Description:
About Etched Etched is building the world’s first AI inference
system purpose-built for transformers - delivering over 10x higher
performance and dramatically lower cost and latency than a B200.
With Etched ASICs, you can build products that would be impossible
with GPUs, like real-time video generation models and extremely
deep & parallel chain-of-thought reasoning agents. Backed by
hundreds of millions from top-tier investors and staffed by leading
engineers, Etched is redefining the infrastructure layer for the
fastest growing industry in history. Job Summary We are seeking a
highly skilled Rack Level Integration Engineer to play a critical
role in qualifying and integrating all components within data
center racks. In this role, you will oversee rack-level integration
for our Sohu system product, including top-of-rack (ToR) switches,
high-power water cooling systems, Coolant Distribution Units
(CDUs), heat exchangers, and rack-level management functions. You
will be responsible for hands-on lab racking and stacking,
high-touch rack setups, and ensuring optimal performance,
reliability, and readiness for deployment. Key Responsibilities
Integrate all components within a data center rack, including
servers, storage systems, networking equipment, power, and cooling
solutions. Configure and integrate top-of-rack switches within the
rack environment. Manage and integrate high-power water cooling
systems, including CDUs, heat exchangers, and rack-level manifolds.
Set up, test, and qualify complete rack solutions to meet
performance, reliability, and efficiency standards. Integrate and
configure smart PDUs to ensure efficient power distribution and
compatibility with rack-level power management functions. Maintain
a strong understanding of rack-level management functions,
including monitoring, control, and automation of rack components.
Perform hands-on lab racking and stacking, including assembly and
setup of high-touch rack configurations. Create and maintain
detailed documentation for rack-level integrations, including
specifications, installation procedures, test results, and issue
tracking. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as
mechanical engineers, systems engineers, vendors, and integrators
to ensure seamless rack-level operation. Work regularly with
contract manufacturers in Taiwan, both remotely and onsite, to
support integration, testing, and delivery of rack-level solutions.
You may be a good fit if you have A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum
of 5 years of experience in rack-level integration, including
top-of-rack switches, CDUs, high-power water cooling systems, and
heat exchangers. Functional knowledge of top-of-rack switches and
hands-on experience with their configuration and integration.
Extensive experience with high-power liquid cooling systems,
including CDUs, heat exchangers, and rack-level cooling
infrastructure. Hands-on experience with lab racking and stacking
and high-touch rack configurations. A strong understanding of
rack-level management functions and integration best practices.
Linux experience. Experience testing and qualifying rack-level
solutions, including work with contract manufacturers or system
integrators. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

believes in the Bitter Lesson . We think most of the progress in
the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run
models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build
model-specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage
companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which
creates a market for single-model ASICs. We are a fully in-person
team in San Jose (Santana Row), and greatly value engineering
skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research,
and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as
needed.
