NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as
a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or
diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring,
and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if
employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to
comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview
at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps
necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements
prior to the interview date.
Salary Range:
$116,600 - $229,500
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined
after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and
qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary
differential.
What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking an R&D S&E Electronics Engineer to join the
Weapon Subsystems 5 group, which is a multidisciplinary team, in
designing and developing advanced electronic subsystems. This group
provides innovative solutions to technical challenges that support
our mission and commitment to national security.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Write directed simulation testbenches for functional verification
using ModelSim or Questa
Use Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) for design
verification
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team whose task will be to
define requirements, create the subsystem design, implement quality
design methodology, build and evaluate prototypes, test subsystems,
and support full-up system integration testing
Other responsibilities include:
Working with representatives from systems organizations,
subcomponent organizations, quality assurance, program management,
and production
Ability to create innovative solutions to difficult technical
problems
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Working cooperatively with other internal organizations, as well as
external production facilities and suppliers

Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
plus 5 or more years of experience; or equivalent combination of
relevant experience and education
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Current DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance
Experience in FPGA or digital ASIC design
Experience with Verilog or System Verilog programming language
Demonstrated knowledge of Universal Verification Methodology
(UVM)

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and
