opening for a Network Engineer III in Livermore, CA.
Position Overview
The Network Engineer III performs activities required to design,
build, deploy and support Fremont Bank's Enterprise LAN/WAN network
and supporting branch operations, production datacenters,
applications, telephony and video systems and other devices. This
is a technical position, and requires strong troubleshooting and
analytical skills - combined with a keen ability to communicate
well in both verbal and written form.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Design, build, implement and support a highly available hybrid
Cloud network infrastructure.
- Build scalable, and repeatable architectural patterns
- Support Technology projects to deliver superior solutions to
technical and business stakeholders
- Provide L3 support for Cloud, network, and telephony related
service interruptions
- Administrator tools & products, Providing escalated support to
L2 team
- Ensure on premiums network, Cloud network (Azure), and data
centers are highly available with minimal latency or system /
application interruption
- Design, build and support Azure Virtual Desktops, VMs, build
process using golden images, auto-scaling and security
- Maximize NetApp on premises and Azure storage and data security
while minimizing cost
- Ensure proper configuration and build patterns are in place for
TCP/IP networking as well as Cloud Load Balancers, Application
gateway, Security Groups, VNETs/Subnets, VPN Gateways, Private
links/endpoints, ExpressRoute, Route tables, Azure provided DNS,
traffic manager and NAT configuration
- Evaluate and administer Azure Active Directory
- Ensure all network equipment, tools and practices conform with
auditing, compliance and governance using Bank and Azure
policies
- Keep abreast of new technologies and recommend adoption as
appropriate. Identify areas for automation or other process
improvement
- Participate in team on-call rotation and provide support during
project and operations related cutovers
- Partner with business units to best understand the
organization's needs and plan, design, implement & support
production data centers
- Management of multiple high-visibility, high-impact projects
simultaneously
- Work with cross functional teams supporting our business
applications and on-premise infrastructure & cloud
- Plan, design and coordinate the implementation of WAN or
Internet related activities in support of defined requirements
generated by business and growth demands
- Validate project requirements, define project scope, develop
project schedules and produce detailed designs for assigned
project
- Prepare and maintain up to date documentation details of the
deployed solutions
- Plan and execute highly sophisticated network upgrades and
migration activities
- Assists with deployment and strategy of tools and related
Network Management Systems
- Provides mentorship for existing network team members as
appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect: (Required)
- Azure VPN, VMs, Defender, and InTune: (Required)
- Designing, building, and maintaining complex hybrid LAN/WAN
infrastructures: 5 years (Required)
- Deploying scalable infrastructures on Azure: 5 years
(Required)
- Working with large IT teams to lead projects: 5 years
(Required)
- Azure Architecture: 5 years (Required)
- Configuring, testing, supporting Cisco equipment: 5 years
(Required)
- Cisco CCNA: (Required), Cisco CCIE: (Preferred)
- IP networking, L2/L3 network protocols (spanning-tree, OSPF,
BGP), LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routing, QOS, VLAN, ACL, NAC:
(Required)
- Designing, building, and maintaining Meraki secure wireless
network: (Required)
- Configuration, testing, and monitoring of SolarWinds,
Dynatrace, ControlUp and Systrac: Required)
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Automation experience is a plus
Job Location: Livermore, CA
Hiring salary range: $104,178.00 - $130,222.00 annual
