Since our products are determined by customer demand, there is always something new coming around the corner.__You will be working with a team of engineers responsible for re-releasing existing designs of legacy products back into active manufacturing resolving any gaps and developing capabilities along the way. The technology that you will be working with is related to single board computers previously built by OEM's like Abaco, Motorola, Curtiss_ _Wright & Radisys, to name a few. By creating this profile you will be joining a community of mission-driven people like you. _Please note: _ _Must have 5 years _embedded electronics manufacturing and assembly process engineering_Must be authorized to work in USA__Must be willing to take assessments & a background check__Flexible work schedule to include 4/10 work week and opportunity to work from home when not required in the office._ Role Description The Manufacturing Engineer reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for product management and quality control inspection management, in an effort to reliably deliver products that meet OEM and customer standards & specifications. Translate OEM intellectual property : including manufacturing processes, documentation, and data into our methodology and infrastructure - revising and/or developing new processes and capabilities, where required. Manage Production support requests: assign work to suitable parties throughout the company, and report on work status. Develop manufacturing enhancements by working with stakeholders and other Manufacturing Engineering subject matter experts. Release manufacturing processes and verify they are suitably documented and fit-for-purpose. Resolve cases and queries related to manufacturing process issues or enhancements (e.g. special customer requirements, assembly non-conformances.); nonconformance and corrective/preventive action initiatives. Keep track of priorities and report on work status during in line with team communication protocols (e.g. weekly 1-2-1, team huddles) Provide Disposition Approvals for nonconforming materials: Respond to disposition approval requests by reviewing the proposed actions and approving or rejecting them in writing. Product Failure analysis: Collect board failure rate data from Engineering, for in process (in-house and supplier) and warranty return nonconformances, analyze data, and report results. Provide second opinions on Engineering's failure analysis for nonconforming and returned products. Assist with nonconforming material metrics, including warranty returns. Quality Control - Manage inspection team: Provide regular direction to Quality Control Inspector(s). Quality Control - Provide inspection backup: As needed, provide assistance to the Quality Control Inspector and act as the backup inspector for Quality evaluation of incoming and outgoing materials. Quality Control - Produce inspection specifications: As needed, create or direct creation of inspection specification protocols to be employed during inspection to ensure key characteristics are identified and verified for incoming and outgoing materials. Skills required for this role: BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, with at least 5 years' experience in embedded electronics manufacturing and assembly process engineering. Able to develop clear written work instructions, assembly instructions, inspection guides and analysis reports. Critical thinker and creative problem solver. Knowledge of IPC standards for Printed Circuit Boards, familiarity with current ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards are an advantage. Interpersonal qualities required for this role: Able to collaborate with manufacturing process stakeholders and subject matter experts - including contract manufacturing service providers.
