Job Description:

The Industrial Engineer will work with cross functional teams to create, develop, and implement best in class manufacturing systems, improving our ability to exceed our customer's expectations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
--- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and operations teams to evaluate manufacturing processes and design solutions to limit waste and maximize machine utilization
--- Develop, maintain, and roll out tools to improve visual shop floor management
--- Lead, evaluate, prioritize, and implement continuous improvement projects
--- Evaluate, design, and drive the implementation of OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) practices to measure manufacturing productivity in a large-scale manufacturing environment
--- Interface with management, operations, IT, quality, and manufacturing engineering teams for shop floor data collection and validation
--- Drive initiatives to fully utilize databases and establish high quality data acquisition
--- Support the creation of work instructions and user training for continuous improvement project roll out
--- Lead value stream mapping initiatives to promote lean manufacturing
--- Work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and execute cost/cycle-time reduction initiatives
--- Conceptualize and create fixtures to support manufacturing using 3D CAD software
--- Track and update cycle times in ERP system.
--- Provide technical guidance (product and process)
--- Conform to ISO procedures and FMI established protocols
--- Comply with applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations in accordance with company policy and accepted safe work practices
--- Understand the importance of designing, building, and operating safe systems through basic knowledge and understanding of basic safe work processes such as JSA's and MOC's
--- Perform additional related duties as assigned KEY

CHARACTERISTICS, COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS:
--- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
--- Experience working in a production manufacturing environment
--- Able to analyze complex data using analytical tools, run workflow time studies, and implement solutions to balance production flow
--- In-depth understand of modern lean manufacturing and six sigma principles
--- Able to develop and demonstrate value stream maps and visual factory management tools
--- Ability to work cross functionally between operations, management, and support services

RECOMMENDED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
--- Lean certification
--- 6 sigma certifications
--- CAD certification
--- ERP system certification
--- GD&T certification
--- Project management certification

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
--- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
--- 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry/ (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
--- Verifiable lean manufacturing training and experience
--- In depth knowledge of production MRP/ERP systems (Epicor E10 software preferred)
--- Able to use Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
--- Organizational, analytical, and planning skills
--- Aptitude to use skills and knowledge to complete tasks --- Ability to create and present technical reports to large groups of people
--- Knowledge of conventional machining processes and equipment (mill, lathe, screw machine, etc.)
--- Experience troubleshooting and coordinating failure analysis test plans (destructive and non-destructive)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
--- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
--- The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle objects
--- The employee is occasionally required to lift and move objects up to 15 pounds
--- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
--- The physical environment requires the employee to work in a normal office setting with frequent visits to the manufacturing floor and certified cleanroom
--- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
--- The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderate
--- The employee will occasionally be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment
