This group provides innovative solutions to technical challenges that support our mission and commitment to national security.On any given day, you may be called on to:Design low-power, mixed-signal embedded electronic subsystemsPerform low-power discrete analog design, modeling, and simulation of analog electronic subsystems, including amplifier and filter designPerform design and analysis of switched mode power supplies (SMPS) using SPICECollaborate with our electronics CAD team to perform printed circuit board (PCB) design and layoutTest and troubleshoot PCBs in the lab using power supplies, oscilloscopes, and other lab equipmentDerive requirements for and select commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) electronics componentsWork as part of a multi-disciplinary team whose task will be to define requirements, create the subsystem design, implement quality design methodology, build and evaluate prototypes, test subsystems, and support system integration testingOther responsibilities include:Working with representatives from systems organizations, subcomponent organizations, quality assurance, program management, and productionAbility to create innovative solutions to difficult technical problemsAbility to work in a team-oriented environmentWorking cooperatively with other internal organizations, as well as external production facilities and suppliersQualifications We RequireBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline plus 2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and educationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearanceQualifications We DesireCurrent DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearanceExperience working with SPICE simulation of electronic circuitsExperience with switched mode power supply (SMPS) designDemonstrated knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) design and layout considerationsAbout Our TeamWeapons Subsystems 5 supports the weapon stockpile and modernization programs by stewarding deployed systems and developing advanced designs for new systems, with a focus on exceptionally high confidence, quality, and reliability.About SandiaSandia National Laboratories is the nation's premier science and engineering lab for national security and technology innovation, with teams of specialists focused on cutting-edge work in a broad array of areas.
